Do I need a sunscreen everyday?
Clinique's guiding dermatologists stress the need to wear a high SPF sunscreen every daylight hour, as incidental sun exposure (tanning without trying) is the chief cause of skin ageing and skin damage. Block rays with daily sun protection: Wear Super City Block SPF 40 Oil Free Daily Face Protector or City Block Sheer SPF 15/25. Wear alone or under makeup.

What should I do if I get sunburn?
An after-sun product such as After-Sun Rescue Balm with Aloe can be used to help repair damage from UV exposure, soothe skin and reduce redness. For future sunbathing remember to stay sun smart. Start each season using Sun Protection with the highest appropriate SPF level. Never stay out in the sun for longer that your SPF will allow you to, otherwise you will burn! Always reapply after going into the water. Fair skins are advised to stick with SPF 50 for sun smart skin. For lips, protect and add shine and colour with Superbalm Tinted Lip Treatments SPF 15. Note for still-sore or sunburned skin: This is the one skin that cannot be exfoliated.

How can I protect my child from the sun?
Babies under 6 months: No sun or sun block. Infants need sunhats, shirts and plenty of shade. In the car: Baby wears a wide-brimmed hat. In the pushchair: Cover hood (or umbrellas) with towel. 6 months to 2 years: Limit protected sun exposure to (at most) half an hour daily, never leave your child out for too long. In the sun or on the beach use a creamy, fragrance-free sun block like UV-Response Face Cream SPF50 and reapply frequently. Always carry Lip/Eye SPF30 to touch up on lips, nose and ears.

Can the sun aggravate broken capillaries (‘spider veins’)?
These are tiny dilated blood vessels or capillaries, usually on face or legs. The sun can act as an aggravation, so too can wind, spicy foods, alcoholic drinks and temperature extremes. Protect with Continuous Coverage SPF 15. To minimise discolouration on the legs, try Body Quick Bronze Self-Tanner. Continuous Coverage SPF 15 will hide imperfections on the face.

How can I protect my skin when swimming, scuba diving or wind surfing?
Even when you are submerged in water, the sun's UV rays can reach you. Your waterproof solution: Easy-to-use spray-on Sun-Care Body Spray SPF15 or SPF30. Reapply frequently, and after every time you dry off with a towel. To protect from environmental damage with the most advanced daily moisturizer use Superdefense Triple Action Moisturizer and to follow at night with Continous Rescue Anti-Oxidant Moisturizer that Bridges the evolution gap between your skin's natural defences and the demands of today's environment.
