Antioxidants

Today, it’s more important than ever to have antioxidants in your daily skin care routine. Why? “They help protect your skin by neutralising the effects of oxidative stress, which comes from things you deal with every day,” says London-based board-certified dermatologist and Clinique Derm Pro Dr. Emma Wedgeworth. “That includes pollution, UV rays, pollen, infrared radiation, and blue light.”

In fact, up to 90% of visible ageing comes from UV rays alone.

Oxidative stress.
Oxidative stress is when an oxygen molecule splits up into single unpaired electrons called free radicals. “This causes damage like premature ageing, hyperpigmentation, inflammation, and uneven skin tone and texture,” explains Dr. Wedgeworth. Also, as we age, our natural energy levels tend to dip, leading to more easily fatigued, damage-prone skin. That’s why it’s important to have antioxidants in your skin care routine to help prevent all of that damage.

Your first line of defense.
Superdefense SPF25 Fatigue + 1st Signs of Age Multi-Correcting Cream contains broad-spectrum sun protection that helps block UVA and UVB rays, but also protects against infrared radiation, which is when our skin feels heat and blue light. It provides all-day antioxidant protection with a blend of vitamins C, E, and ergothioneine. Plus, this multi-correcting cream contains seven superfoods: carrot, spinach, broccoli, kale, Brussels sprouts, blueberries, and cranberries.

To help correct existing damage, this fatigue fighter also visibly reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and improves dullness—all while strengthening your skin with a moisture barrier complex of hyaluronic acid, trehalose, and sigesbeckia extract.

Recharge your routine.
“A great antioxidant routine would be pairing Fresh Pressed Daily Booster with Pure Vitamin C 10% with Superdefense SPF25 Fatigue + 1st Signs of Age Multi-Correcting Cream,’ says Dr. Wedgeworth.

The Fresh Pressed Daily Booster with Pure Vitamin C 10% is packed with ascorbic acid that starts working the second it touches your skin—to brighten and even retexturise your skin over time. And because vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps improve skin health, when it’s combined with Superdefense SPF25 Fatigue + 1st Signs of Age Multi-Correcting Cream, the Continuous Recharge Technology in the cream unlocks to reload antioxidants like vitamin C, so you experience continuous antioxidant protection.

“Use them together to achieve anti-ageing and skin protecting results,” explains Dr. Wedgeworth.
